Paul was delighted to win a gold medal, in the annual international underwater photography.com competition, for his wide angle image of the USS Kittiwake shipwreck. He was also a runner up in 2 other categories: over-under shots; and macro (close up).

Paul submited this collection of images to a Royal Photographic Society assessment panel on 6 Jul 2011 and successfully achieved the first level of distinction (a Licentiateship). He now intends to follow this with a project for his Associateship and will most likely stick to an underwater theme.

This image of the USS Kittiwake won an international gold medal in the 2011/2012 uw photography.com competition, won a Telegraph travel competition, was chosen by Peter Rowlands as the cover shot for Underwater Photography Magazine Mar/Apr 2011, selected as Digitalab (photo printing laboratory) picture of the week on 17 Feb 2011, was winner of the Aziab Media competition July 2011, and was included in an article by Alex Mustard about wreck photography. In short, Paul's most successful image to date.

National Geographic selected Paul's image of a Horse Eye Jack school in the 'Daily Dozen' competition during March 2011. The image was shortlisted for the Telegraph Big Picture competition in Apr 2011 and featured in the Digital SLR magazine May 2011 Reader's Showcase. The Crescent Tail Bigeye image was also featured in the Digital SLR magazine Reader's Showcase.
